Conventional software has no needs. A program that can be suspended indefinitely as data and resumed has no primary needs. When suspended it has no existential needs.

Conventional software has no self because its existence does not result from the active satisfaction of primary or existential needs. Its behavior is solely triggered.

On the other hand, the Core of a being is in constant activation to validate its attributes of existence. This consumes energy. Its existence is inherently unstable and is extended through active behavior.
